ARCELOR MITTAL, the world’s leading steel and mining company, has selected SARRALLE for the modernization of its Steel Plant at Belval facilities, Luxembourg, specialized in the production of 1.300.000T/Y of Beam Blank and Bloom.
The order includes the Engineering and Supply, Installation and Commissioning support services and the Process Automation of the equipment for Arcelor Mittal Belval Steel Plant, including:
- New 155 t DC Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) SARRALLE Blue Efficient Arc (video)
- Fumes Exhaust System (FES) Upgrade SARRALLE Bluesky-Plant
- Material Handling System (MHS) Upgrade
- New 145t Vacuum Degasser (VD)
- 6 strands Continuous Casting Machine (CCM) Upgrade
- Water Treatment Plant upgrade (dedicated WTP for the VD and WTP upgrade for the EAF)
All the equipment is based on SARRALLE state of the art technology of meltshops, engineered following the philosophy of heavy – duty equipment, maximizing the efficiency and availability, minimizing the maintenance operation and considering the environmental request, reducing the energy consumption and CO2 emission.
This New Plant will allow Arcelor Mittal Belval a sustainable production of long products in order to offer its customers the best steel quality.
Then New Electric Arc Furnace will include SARRALLE’s safety technologies as Automatic Slag Door, EBT Sand Feeding, EBT emergency opening device and EBT cleaning.
The start up and commissioning of the new plant is foreseen in Q1 2025.
